PSN down for maintenance, again

Today we have learned that Sony is shutting the PSN down for maintenance, Eric Lempel, VP of Sony Network Entertainment has posted a communication through the official Sony Playstation blog letting the community know of the latest developments:

Starting soon, the PlayStation Network will be inaccessible for several hours for maintenance. The server maintenance performed at this time represents a crucial step in the full restoration for PSN, including the PlayStation Store.

During this maintenance period, users will be unable to sign in to PSN, though those that are already logged in should be able to remain online.

Resumption of full PlayStation Network service is still on track for this week in most regions.

Thank you once again for your patience as we work to return PSN to the highest level of service.

This comes after Sony had done full restoration of services including the Playstation Store, in-game commerce, music powered by Qriocity and Media Go functionality. Sony has said that PSN services will be unavailable today June 1st for several hours. During this period users will not be able to sign in, though users that are already logged in will be able to remain online.

We hope tha this is just a mere hiccup and that we will not remain without PSN services for too long. Please let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below
