Today Sony has shared news about the Playstation network being restored. Through their Playstation blog, Sony has posted a video of Kazuo Hirai proudly announcing that the restoration process has started and the PSN will be up soon.
Hirai explained that the first phase has been launched in most regions of the world today and includes login services, online playing, music unlimited and third party services such as Hulu, Vudu and Netflix. All of these are being restored for both the PSN and Qriocity.
Users will notice increased security on the network, they will need to change the password on the account whenever login for the first time. Hirai explained also that other measures were taken to further secure the PSN such as Advanced security technology, increased level of encryption, additional firewalls and early warning systems that will alert the network of suspicious activity.
In the video Hirai also reiterated what has been said before. Sony is offering to pay for enrolling in identity theft programs, and that there will be a "welcome back" program to make up for lost time and to regain customer's trust.
On another post Sony is updating US customers on which states are getting PSN services, however, at the time of writing of this article, none of the states showed to have the PSN back online. We just can get over the fact that we will be able to use PSN very soon. Please let us know what you think and also if you are already getting access to the PSN.
